Italy: electricity prices and battery value
Day-ahead prices for Italy, how much a battery could trade each day, and how the market compares with its neighbours.
Italy's day-ahead market (GME) has seven bidding zones: North, Centre-North, Centre-South, South, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. Zonal prices split when the grid between them is congested, so a battery in Sicily or the South earns a different spread from one in Milan. Imbalance and reserve prices come from one control area run by Terna.
Bidding zones: IT-NORD, IT-CNOR, IT-CSUD, IT-SUD, IT-CALA, IT-SICI, IT-SARD
