Ireland: electricity prices and battery value

Day-ahead prices for Ireland, how much a battery could trade each day, and how the market compares with its neighbours.

Ireland and Northern Ireland share one market, the Single Electricity Market (SEM), run by SEMO. Wind supplies about a third of the power, so prices swing hard between windy and still days, and the island depends on gas for the rest. Interconnectors to Great Britain and, since the Celtic link, to France tie it to its neighbours. EirGrid and SONI buy fast reserves (DS3 system services), a market batteries already serve.
